The Team Moore Racing driver in Firestone Indy Lights, though, has “stop” and “go” printed on his left and right driving shoes, respectively. What if he switched them? “It definitely would scare people,” he said.

The real story: The rubber on the inside of the shoes was wearing as they rub together because of the close proximity of the pedals in the car. He taped them and in a moment of idleness wrote stop and go with a black marker.

“I wanted to play a joke on some people with the words,” the affable Canadian said.

Stop, go.

Stop, go.

The next step he’s considering is having the words embroidered on the shoes.

Until then, maybe he should consider writing “stop” in red marker and “go” in green.
