As I catch up on my blog posts, I thought that my Barber adventure was best displayed in pictures. One of my favorite events so far this year, Birmingham and its rolling hills did not disappoint. And at one point, we did experience the “backwoods of B-ham” while detouring around a traffic jam (someone nominate Zepp to be a full-time pace car driver).
Here’s a summation of the weekend:
I was most impressed by the race fans who came out for this race. They came with their motorcoaches and weekend sporting set-ups. And if we could get everyone to paint their car like a super spirited cheer parent, we’d have the largest and cheapest mobile marketing campaign EVER. Get on it, people!
I had my first-ever pace car ride as Davey Hamilton drove (hurtled) me and IZOD gal Cameron around the gorgeous road course. I have video, but realized later that I threw out a few too many expletives and annoying shrieks…so I’ll just keep that one in the vault.
If you don’t know the Firestone Indy Lights Drivers, I highly encourage you take an interest. Not only are they the next stars of our series, but they are fantastically entertaining. Seen here is Hinch. Find him, tweet him, Facebook him, see his v-blog. They all rule.
Charles Barkley made it out to Barber and had a lengthy chat with the uh, smaller (and much fitter) EJ Viso.
Golf Cart Adventures: a soon-to-be blog post for me I’m sure. My co-worker Kelly and I had some fun and scary moments, including a race to the “TV COMPOUND!!” And hooray, I only had to make one 6-point turn that weekend. Getting better.
(p.s. Kelly and I have switched to golf carts due to a couple of scooter incidents in St. Pete that resulted in my ankle turning purple and a near-head-on collision with TK.)
A blow-up church. That’s all I have to say about this one.
With Helio’s win, we had the meshing of Brazil and Bass Pro. The flags go nicely together, don’t ya think? Eu amo pescar!

Thanks for the versus twitter love.
