Web Talk with Tony Kanaan

Posted on: September 6, 2010 | Comments(4) | Drivers, New Media, Web Talk | By: Daniel

This week we’re focusing on a few IZOD IndyCar drivers to learn how they use technology when they’re not driving 200 mph.  We asked them questions about their personal websites, Twitter, what sites they visit daily, their favorite YouTube videos, what makes them laugh and much more.

It’s Web Week on IndyCar.com. We’ll be releasing a new driver interview each day, revealing a new side to IndyCar and the drivers.

The first driver up in Web Talk is Tony Kanaan – which isn’t a bad choice for this topic.

Kanaan iPad

He's into technology

Tony has over 150,000 followers on Twitter.

A website in both English and Portugese.

And was spotted earlier this season, using an iPad in pit lane.

Hear what Tony has to say about the web, below. And BTW, you can grab an RSS feed for everything Tony Kanaan on IndyCar.com, here.

i have some concerns like many team owners about going to a new car in 2012. it will probably force some small teams to leave { coquest, sarah fisher, ect. } i hope not. what should be done or have done was a way to incorparate the old car with the new one. they did back in the 80’s and 90’s with update kits. yes the big dogs would eat with the money and new cars, but , do we want only 10-15 cars at every race. just when the indy car series is starting to make a foothold, they may end up shooting off there feet. the general race fan is tired of nascar’s 5 hr. marathons every weekend. may want to take a step back and think about.

it sounded like that dan weldon is out at panther. i hope not. he is good for the series. but after chip screwed him, he was left in the dark. nothing wrong with panther, but they are a 2nd. tier team, unless more funding comes and they can run 2 cars. sounds as if carpenter may be in that seat next year. if the schedule continues on heavy road/streeet races, then weldon or carpenter will struggle, like alot of the 2nd. tier teams.

No doubt about it TK is probably the most fan freindly guy in the series. He has a great looking website. He always has something provocitive to say, I like that about him. Most drivers cannot be reached. Some are on Twitter. I don’t care for Twitter.
