In continuing the IndyCar Flickr Series, we’re looking at the images most “favorited” by you over this year. Flickr offers the option of “favoriting” an image – this will simply place the image into a permanent gallery. You can access it anytime. Kind of cool. You favorite our images a lot. Thank you for that.
In continuing the IndyCar Flickr Series, we’re looking at the images most “favorited” by YOU this year. Unlike the previous two measurements – Interestingness and Views – this category places the emphasis back on photography and the people behind the lens (sorry helmet and 2012 chassis designers).
And continuing this blog series tradition – what’s our 99th most favorited image?
In the #10 position is just what the Dr. ordered.
It’s no surprise that Tony Kanaan appears at number 10, in fact, he’s in the top-10 three times. He’s popular.
Another popular driver is Danica Patrick. Our 6th most favorited image.
The last two Flickr posts have been all about the fan. Where are the 2012 Chassis Designs or helmet designs? Here’s the highest ranked user submitted image.
But the top-3 in this category come down to the skill of the photographer, the artistry, the process and a little luck. Enjoy.
In P3 – showing off the lensbaby lens and a moment of preparation.
#2 reminds us that there aren’t rain tires for ovals.
And the most favorited image shows us that Tony Kanaan is very popular, photography is an art form, and capturing ‘the’ shot comes down to being in the right place at the right time. Talk about stunning.
One more Flickr installment next week: Most comments.

Personally I like these grabshots!

These images are very disappointing. They run from the boringly conventional (#1) to the the very dull (#2) to the overly familiar (#3, and I’m a fan of hers) back to the very dull (#4) to the overly “artistic” (#5) to the very, very, very dull (#6) to the repeat of overly “artistic.” Given all the exciting moments in racing, that these are the best images you can offer us is astonishing.
Rich – we like those shots too.
David – thank you for your feedback. We did not hand pick the images presented in this blog post. They are the images most favorited by our fans and based on the reporting Flickr provides us.
These are all great shots.
Although there is a basic Danica headshot, I do understand it.
My favorite also was the Kanaan Indy photo…just because of remembering what was accomplished that day. It was amazing!
