There’s an infant-sized IndyCar baby boom happening and Bronte Tagliani, wife of driver Alex Tagliani, is part of it.
Tagliani, who has been hiding her emerging baby bump well, is nearly seven months pregnant and due in April. Meanwhile, Alex is working to return to the Indianapolis 500 in May.
“We have kept (the baby news) to ourselves. The world knows so much about our lives, so it was something that was nice to have for ourselves,” said Bronte, who recently started publicizing photos of herself on her fashion blog, bellennoir.com.
The news comes a week after Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan and his wife, Lauren Bohlander, announced the birth of Deco Kanaan, who weighs 7 pounds. Deco is Kanaan’s second child. His other son, Leo, is 7. At the “Baby Borg” presentation last week in Detroit, reigning Indianapolis 500 Mile Race champion Ryan Hunter-Reay said that his wife, Beccy, is expecting the couple’s second child in early March. They have a son, Ryden, who is 2.
Bronte, who is Australian, and Alex, who is Canadian, are bringing their addition – a girl, who will be named Eva Rose – into the world in Indianapolis. So, Eva Rose will be the only native Hoosier in the family.
Bronte is including details about the rest of her pregnancy and fashion tips for mothers-to-be in her blog — look for the heading “Style Your Bump.”
“Women can keep their signature look while they are pregnant,” she said.
As her own bump continues to grow, Bronte is also collecting advice on how to successfully raise a family with a husband who drives race cars. Verizon IndyCar Series driver Ryan Briscoe ’s wife, Nicole, has helped. So has Emma Dixon, wife of Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon, and Hunter-Reay.
“”I’ll take cues from them,” said Bronte.
