#IndyCar-aoke taking off during 2016 Media Tour

In recent years, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has hosted a number of fantastic concerts. In 2014, Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas were on stage. Last year, Jane’s Addiction rocked the speedway during the Month of May. This year, the legendary group Journey is set to make our fans sing on Miller Light Carb Day.

Speaking of singing…

On Tuesday, the entire field of 33 Verizon IndyCar Series drivers competing in the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil traveled throughout North America to 19 cities promoting this weekend’s race. Most drivers took to the skies to travel to their destinations, though some stayed closer to Indianapolis and took to the roads.

Three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves headed north on I-65 to Chicago. Always the effervescent personality, you could tell he was excited to get the Media Tour started.

News spreads fast … the challenge came out … what drivers would join him in an impromptu #IndyCaraoke?

Indy 500 rookies Max Chilton and Matt Brabham, both heading south on I-65 to Louisville, Kentucky, were the first to chime in with a little Journey.

Not to be outdone, Graham Rahal and his wife, NHRA superstar Courtney Force, did their own rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”. To be honest, we think it’s a toss-up of which duo sung it better.

Will we see other takers? Will keep you posted. In the meantime, perhaps it might be best to keep them off the concert stages – for now.

Don’t forget – this weekend, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host plenty of music to keep you singing right to the start of the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil. Here’s a quick concert schedule for this weekend:
