If the shoe fits
Luckily, Helio Castroneves had perfect hair and his signature yellow No. 3 socks on when he competed on “American Ninja Warrior” in late April because when the episode aired June 13 on NBC, we see that he lost a shoe while holding onto the rolling log obstacle. The show tweeted about the mishap with footage, which proves Castroneves is a good sport. With one shoe and even after being dumped into a pool, he comes up smiling.

Getting a rain check
A dunk in a pool turned out to be the right way to prepare for the Firestone 600, whose completion had to be postponed until Aug. 27 due to torrential downpours June 10 and 11. Before the race was called, fans waited it out in the stands. Grateful and without damp spirits, 11 Verizon IndyCar Series drivers headed into stands to greet the soggy faithful. And Twitter exploded.

His hair was perfect (too)
Before the race was called, Josef Newgarden and Conor Daly crashed, sending Josef to the hospital. It didn’t take long for the Ed Carpenter Racing driver to start cracking jokes, according to a tweet from his pal James Hinchcliffe. On June 13, he tweeted a picture from his bed and, despite being hooked to lots of medical equipment, his hair was perfect, too.

Leaving on a jet plane
Scott Dixon, Sebastien Bourdais and Mikhail Aleshin dried off on the way to France for the 84th 24 Hours of Le Mans. Retired great Dario Franchitti was there, using social media to be a funny guy. He challenged the Internet to caption this pic:
We’re not taking the bait, but you can.
On the road
Meanwhile, NASCAR star Brad Keselowski surprised everyone at the Road America test June 15, when he showed up and took Simon Pagenaud’s bright yellow Menards Chevrolet out for some laps. Pagenaud cracked the Internet up Friday with this:
The magic bus
Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi slowed down a bit to go karting at Sarah Fisher’s Speedway (Ind.) Indoor Karting with a reporter and ride an Indianapolis city bus for a future story and pics in the fashion mag, Pattern. Karting with Rossi was a bit much for one of the photogs, who said she felt like a “scrambled egg” after the experience.
